The Management Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain is a 7-module, 7-month course designed to provide supply chain practitioners, operations managers, and business owners with the necessary knowledge to deepen their understanding of supply chain management. This program enables participants to apply these principles in their workplace or organization, contributing to the organization's survival, recovery, and growth.
Program Details
Logistics and Supply Chain Strategic Management
The first module focuses on identifying an organization's strengths and industry position, as well as understanding external factors that may influence that position. It concerns strategic decisions about product and technology choices, gaining competitive advantage, and exploiting or creating new opportunities. Participants will perform a strategy review to ensure the logistics organization's objectives align with company objectives and strategies.
Resilience & Supply Chain Security Management
This module addresses the constellation of Supply Chain Resiliency and Risks arising from emerging technologies, financial interdependence, resource depletion, climate change, and disasters. It covers the development of resilience strategies, minimizing exposure and complexity inherent in globalization, and establishing adaptable safeguards to respond to emerging risks and global regulatory changes.
E-Commerce and E-Fulfillment
This module explains current e-commerce and e-fulfillment strategies, including the development of a proper order fulfillment system, third-party logistics, and implementation of business-to-business and business-to-consumer orders. It also covers the requirements of the end consumer, processing and managing inventory, choosing correct packaging, and nuances of the fulfillment workflow.
Procurement, Warehouse and Distribution Management
This module emphasizes procurement strategies, such as cost reduction, risk management, supplier relationship, global sourcing strategies, and sustainable purchasing. It discusses distribution effectiveness, comprising end-to-end warehouse processes, productivity improvements, internal warehouse KPIs monitoring, and techniques of data conversion to business intelligence and analytics.
Design Thinking
This course introduces Design Thinking as a framework for developing human-centered solutions. It encourages an innovative, empathetic mindset to identify market opportunities and understand the principles behind rapid prototyping and implementation.
Business Innovation
The Business Innovation course covers innovative business model development that is human-centered and industry-context aligned. Students will be introduced to the Business Model Canvas and Lean Canvas as strategic management templates for developing new or documenting existing business models.
Management Project
The management project involves conducting applied research leading to a project report, applying knowledge, skills, and perspectives gained from the course. Participants will deploy various analytical tools, matrices, and templates to develop relevant business strategies for companies of their choice.
Entry & Application Requirements

- A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
- Other equivalent qualifications deemed acceptable by SIMM/Thames International

Award of Certificates and Diploma
For each module, a Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to participants. Upon completion of the seven modules, participants can apply for the Management Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain, jointly awarded by SIMM and Thames International.
