Sewing Level 3

Duration

The program duration is 8 weeks, with classes held once a week for 2 hours.

Project Includes

The program includes:

• Building sewing skills by learning new techniques
• Drafting and sewing a design in eight weeks
• Creating a sewing sample book
• Constructing and sewing a lined blazer coat

Sewing Level 3 Part-time Classes

The part-time classes cover advanced sewing techniques, including:

• Draping a pattern
• Cutting and sewing a lined tailored jacket or coat

Important Notes

• The instructor will structure the work around the student's skill level, capabilities, and preferred pace
• All muslin is included
• Sewing kits and additional fabrics can be purchased at a wholesale price
• Classes with three or fewer students are considered private classes and will be completed in six weeks

Housekeeping

• Students are expected to arrive on time
• Absences must be reported in advance to avoid missing a class
• One makeup class is permitted per session, subject to availability

Meet Your Professors

Komal Chharanhhan

Komal Chharahhan is the founder and creative director of Ginni Gill. She has a background in fashion design and marketing, and has taught at the Cut Design Academy since 2022.

Liz Gao

Liz Gao is a fashion and costume designer with experience in theatre productions and apparel design. She has worked as a freelance costume designer and has taught at the Cut Design Academy.

Laura Smith

Laura Smith has been sewing clothing since 2016 and has a diploma in Fashion Design Creative Arts from the Cut Design Academy. She has worked as a corset maker and has designed a couture collection for Vancouver Fashion Week.
