Fashion Programs

  • Fashion Diplomas: The university offers a Fashion Design & Creative Arts diploma, as well as a Fashion Design Core 4 Diploma.
  • Fashion Certificate: The Fashion Design & Illustration certificate is available, along with other certificates in Pattern Making & Assembling Technique, Couture Pattern Making, Technical Pattern Making, Gerber Pattern Making & Grading, 3D Apparel Design & Integration, and Basic Costuming for Film & Television.
  • Fashion Business: The Global Fashion Marketing Diploma and Styling & Marketing for Fashion & Lifestyle are available, as well as Product Development, Sourcing & Manufacturing.

Interior Design Programs

  • Interior Design Certificate: The university offers an Interior Design Certificate, as well as a Core 4 Interior Design Diploma.

Sewing and Pattern Making Programs

  • Sewing: The university offers a 2-Day Intensive Sewing course, as well as Sewing Level 1, Sewing Level 2, Sewing Level 3, and Industrial Sewing.
  • Pattern Making: The Pattern Making Fundamentals course is available, along with a Basic Pattern Making course.

Intensive Programs

Basic Pattern Making

  • The Basic Pattern Making course is a hands-on class where students will enjoy one-on-one attention from professors with top-level industry experience.
  • Students will learn basic techniques, how to label and organize, how to draft pattern blocks, skirt, bodice, sleeve, and pant, manipulation of patterns, adding zippers, pleats, and vents, and how to draft slopers.

Nargas Khabazha

Nargas has over 40 years of experience as a fashion technical instructor in pattern making, draping, fitting, and textile development.


Melissa McSorley

Melissa is a graduate from the Art Institute of Vancouver's Fashion Design and Merchandising program and has been teaching for the last three years.


Overview

The university's 2-week intensive workshops are designed to maximize industry knowledge within a minimum time frame. Students will be immersed in all facets of the fashion business, with lectures, class discussions, and hands-on instruction from industry professionals in small group settings. Each class is 2 weeks long, with 16 hours per week, for a total of 32 hours. There are no prerequisites for the 2-week intensives.
