University Programs

Fashion Programs

  • Fashion Diplomas: The university offers a Fashion Design & Creative Arts diploma, as well as a Fashion Design Core 4 diploma.
  • Fashion Certificates: Available certificates include Fashion Design & Illustration, Pattern Making & Assembling Technique, Couture Pattern Making, Technical Pattern Making, Gerber Pattern Making & Grading, 3D Apparel Design & Integration, and Basic Costuming for Film & Television.
  • Fashion Business: Programs include a Global Fashion Marketing diploma, Styling & Marketing for Fashion & Lifestyle, and Product Development, Sourcing & Manufacturing.

Interior Design Programs

  • Interior Design Certificate: A certificate program is available for those interested in interior design.
  • Core 4 Interior Design Diploma: This diploma program provides comprehensive training in interior design.

Sewing and Pattern Making Programs

  • Sewing: Programs include a 2-Day Intensive Sewing course, Sewing Level 1, Sewing Level 2, Sewing Level 3, and Industrial Sewing.
  • Pattern Making: A Pattern Making Fundamentals course is available, as well as On-Demand and Portfolio Preps options.

Intensive Programs

  • 2-Week Intensives: Available intensives include Sewing, Basic Pattern Making, 2nd Level Pattern Making, Fashion Design & Illustration, Gerber Digital, and Couture Embellishment Program.

Applications and Youth Camps

  • Applications: Courses include Adobe Illustrator and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as AI to Rocket Launch Your Business.
  • Youth Camps: The university offers Fashion Design & Sewing Camp and Makeup & Styling Camp for youth.

Program Details

Gerber Digital Pattern Making

  • Dates: Available dates can be found by checking the course schedule.
  • Length: The program is 2 weeks long, with classes held Monday through Thursday each week.

  • Hours: Classes are held from 5pm to 8pm.

Digital Pattern Making 2 Weeks Program

This program covers the digital side of pattern making and grading using Gerber AccuMark. Students will learn hands-on under the guidance of an industry professional, covering pattern creation, digitizing, marker making, grading, and more.


Overview

The university offers a variety of two-week intensive workshops designed to maximize industry knowledge within a minimum time frame. These hands-on workshops immerse students in all facets of the fashion business, with instruction by industry professionals in small group settings.


Digital Pattern Making – Gerber

This two-week introductory course examines the digital aspect of pattern making and grading using Gerber AccuMark Pattern Design software. Students will receive hands-on instruction covering pattern creation, drafting, digitizing, plotting, manipulations, grading, and marker making.

  • Learn how to finalize patterns for plotting and printing

Your Instructor

Chay Clayton is a VCAD Alumni with experience working at The Cutting Room and as head seamstress at Scissors, a costume creation studio. Chay has been a favorite instructor to many of The Cut's students and now enjoys teaching Gerber Digital Pattern Making.
