Whether students want to design a national park or a modest, water-efficient backyard, landscape architecture can give them the skills and abilities to make a positive impact. The profession of landscape architecture is a multidisciplinary field that combines design, environmental systems, sustainability, construction knowledge, and land and water conservation to create designed outdoor living spaces.


Course Details

One of the courses available in this program is Landscape Design 1: Site Design Basics (ARCH X 471.1A). This course explores basic design elements, principles, and issues relevant to landscape architecture. Projects emphasize abstract 3D space and form, the basics of site design, conceptual design, imagery, and symbolism, as well as basic issues of proportion, scale, and composition.
