Course Description

The Project Management Capstone course provides hands-on training and experience on the project management framework and foundation using a real-life, single project from start to finish. This course maximizes learning potential on project management processes across all five stages within the project life cycle.

  • Develop a business case, a feasibility study, a project charter, a project management plan, a requirements document, a project scope statement document, a WBS, a schedule, a budget, a risk register, a stakeholder register, final closure report, and lessons learned report

  • Develop project baselines and documents utilizing concepts of progressive elaboration and rolling wave planning while managing project quality and risk features

About This Course

This course provides interactive training on the project management framework and foundation using a single project from start to finish spanning across all five phases in a project life cycle. Students work in groups as consultants and apply hands-on experience using a real-life project starting from initiation to closing to maximize learning potential in project management. The concepts learned during the course could be applied to any project within any industry and with varying complexities, putting a sharper focus on the people, processes, tools, techniques, and technologies needed to successfully execute projects and meet customer expectations. This course helps you gain knowledge towards the PMP Exam by PMI and qualifies for the required 35 Contact Hours or PDU's to apply for or maintain an existing PMP certification.


Prerequisites

  • Completion of MGMT X 444.1 Fundamentals of Project Management course required to have knowledge of basic concepts and terminology to be used in this Capstone course.
