What You Can Learn
Understand the considerations involved in financing, packaging, and selling viable material, study a variety of deal structures to learn how to profit in distribution, delve into the process of selling the film at festivals and other markets, and learn the roles of producers, marketing and sales executives in the distribution process.
About This Course
Producers, filmmakers, and screenwriters learn what makes a project attractive to potential buyers; they study a variety of deal structures and learn how to find domestic and overseas distribution for theatrical, television, streaming, DVD, and alternative markets. Topics include choosing materials, budget, and casting; selling the film through festivals and markets; key buyers; evolving distribution outlets; the roles of producer, marketing and sales executives, and executive producers; and an overview of film financing models.
