Business and Health BSc

The Business and Health BSc is a three-year degree offered by University College London (UCL). This program enables students to explore a core business curriculum, including accounting, marketing, finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship, coupled with cutting-edge courses in health and healthcare.

The program is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of business and health, preparing them for diverse careers in healthcare, research, education, and public health. Students will learn key principles and practices in business management, examining accounting, marketing, finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship to become familiar with the core issues concerning planning, organizing, leading, and controlling activity in the context of health and healthcare.

Program Structure

The program includes a range of modules that provide a strong basis in core business areas as well as healthcare management. Students can specialize in one of three routes: Health Science, Healthcare Management, or Health Technology.

Year 1

In the first year, students gain a strong basis in core business areas as well as healthcare management.

Year 2

In the second year, students continue with general health and business education, including project management and research methods, and can specialize in either Health Science or Healthcare Management. Health Technology students will study modules in digital health innovation, health data analytics, cybersecurity, medical innovation, and regulatory frameworks.

Year 3

In the third year, students gain a grounding in data analytics, the use of AI, and sustainability, and have the opportunity to connect with research in an area of personal interest through their Business and Health Research Project.

The degree employs a range of assessment methods, including exams, essays, reports, and presentations.

Career Prospects

As a Business and Health graduate, students will be able to pursue diverse career paths in healthcare and related fields, including healthcare management, healthcare consulting, healthcare finance, healthcare innovation, and health policy analysis.

Entry Requirements

• A levels: ABB, with no specific subjects required, but at least two A-level subjects should be taken from UCL's list of preferred A-level subjects.
• GCSEs: English Language at grade C or 4, plus Mathematics or Statistics at grade C or 4.
• International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 34 points, with a total of 16 points in three higher-level subjects, and no higher-level score below 5.
• Other qualifications: Access to HE Diploma, BTEC National Diploma, Cambridge Pre-U, Scottish Advanced Highers, and UAL Extended Diploma are also accepted.

English Language Requirements
