Introduction to the Health MBA Program
The Health MBA program is designed and delivered by the UCL Global Business School for Health (UCL GBSH), the world's first business school dedicated to health. This transformational program offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to realize exceptional ambitions in health leadership.
Program Overview
The Health MBA program brings together world-class academia with practical business skills to enable students to gain the knowledge, skills, and attributes of a traditional MBA graduate with solid application of theories and tools to the health sector. This is a competitive program with global relevance, enhancing employability and earnings potential, and securing students' places as future changemakers and health leaders.
Entry Requirements
- A minimum of an upper second-class UK Bachelor's degree or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
- Graduates without the relevant degree classification but with extensive relevant work experience are welcome to apply and will be considered on an individual basis.
- At least three years' postgraduate professional experience is also required.
- Applicants are expected to have a well-balanced GMAT score or a valid GRE score.
- All candidates will be interviewed to assure they understand the demands of the program and are a good fit for this specialism in health.
GMAT Waiver
A waiver of the GMAT score may be considered for applicants who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and evidence of strong quantitative skills. To request a waiver, applicants must provide a copy of their academic transcripts and a CV.
English Language Requirements
The English language level for this program is Level 1. UCL Pre-Master's and Pre-sessional English courses are available for international students aiming to study for a postgraduate degree at UCL.

Program Structure
The program is taught from UCL's state-of-the-art bespoke facilities on the UCL East campus. It includes:
- A one-week induction prior to the start of term focused on personal development, organizational behavior, and team building.
- A three-day residency off-campus with personal and group development, personality and career assessment testing, and career coaching.
- Four blocks of core content, each brought together in a wrap-up week where topics come alive through real-world scenarios and case studies presented and discussed with health experts.

Fieldwork
- Global Health Challenge: A group project that involves conceptualizing issues, undertaking fieldwork, researching solutions, and working as a diverse team to find solutions to a question being explored.
- Health Consultant Project: A consultancy project for a health sector client, which may include an enhanced synthesis of the literature, practice, or applied research.
Career Support
Students receive tailored career support from day one of the program, including:
- Psychometric leadership profiling
- Personal tutoring and one-to-one career coaching
- Access to mentors from health executives in residence
- A full program of events, job boards, resources, and career workshops supporting the entire recruitment process for MBA-related positions.
Networking Opportunities
Health MBA students regularly network with a wide range of guest speakers at all levels from leading organizations, entrepreneurs, policymakers, executives, and chairs of boards, as well as overseas academics. There are site visits, networking events, and field study visits that broaden personal and professional networks.

Teaching and Learning

- Face-to-face instruction in four-week blocks
- Online activities and readings to prepare for each week of face-to-face instruction
- Weekly group tutorials for detailed discussion and consideration of material covered in lectures and case presentations
- Module consolidation seminars involving problem or case-based presentations relating to module content
- Project development workshops allowing for investigative, analytical, synthesis, and data interrogation skills to be developed

Fees and Funding
- Tuition fees: Ł49,500 (full-time), Ł24,750 (part-time) for both UK and international students
- Additional costs: Fee deposit, cost of return travel to the destination for the Global Health Challenge, accommodation in the country, and visa costs (if required)
