Description

The module introduces students to the principles and practices of financial and management accounting. It aims to provide a good grounding in introductory financial accounting and develop students' abilities in:

• Identifying how accounting techniques can be used to support management processes
• Analysing and appraising systems used by organisations to measure and manage performance
• Understanding the fundamentals of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial management
• Applying accounting techniques for financial reporting, planning, financial decision-making, performance evaluation, and management control
• Making effective data-driven business decisions and producing persuasive financial and management accounting reports
• Evaluating and analysing the financial performance of companies through the interpretation of financial reports
