Description
This module explores current topics in human frailty and ageing. Topics will include:
- Ageing and nutritional epidemiology
- Different theories of ageing
- Defining frailty – physical and cognitive
- Nutritional requirement in older adults
- Malnutrition in older adults, the 'anorexia of ageing' and dysphagia
- Sarcopenia and cachexia
- Osteoporosis and fractures
- Physical activity and exercise
- Nutritional management in care homes
- Dementia and specialist feeding approaches
