Human Sciences BSc
The Human Sciences programme at UCL combines the study of life sciences with social and historical sciences, offering students choice and flexibility. Course Overview
Human Sciences is an interdisciplinary degree programme that offers a wide choice of module combinations from across the Faculty of Life Sciences, the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences, and a range of other departments. After initial knowledge-building in the first year, the programme allows students to tailor their degree and pursue their own interests within the human sciences.

Teaching and Learning
- Modules are assessed in the academic year in which they are taken
- A 30-credit module is considered equivalent to 15 credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
- Upon successful completion of 360 credits, students will be awarded a BSc (Hons) in Human Sciences

Year 3
- Compulsory module: Human Sciences Seminar Project

Assessment
Assessments can include essays, web-based examinations, written examinations, practical reports, briefing papers, and debating performance. The third-year independent research project is assessed by a written dissertation/report.
Employability
The programme aims to provide a wide and scientific knowledge of human beings and focuses on teaching highly sought-after transferable skills, including teamwork, problem-solving, critical thinking, data literacy, analysis, and visualization. Graduates can expect to be scientifically literate and numerate, with the ability to think independently and critically about topics from multiple perspectives.
