Description
This module equips students with an understanding of the strategic importance of creativity to organisations and the economy, exploring the fundamentally unique features of the creative industries. Students will come to understand economic, policy, and social influences on and consequences of creative industries and be able to apply relevant frameworks to solve complex problems in these fields. By the end of this module, students will be able to identify contexts where creativity is more or less valuable, apply the unique nature of creative work and creative industries to understand economic and organisational implications, and be prepared for working in creative organisations both within creative industries and relevant domains.
To achieve these goals, the course will draw on a combination of lectures, discussions, and case studies to provide both a solid conceptual knowledge base and the ability to apply concepts to personal experiences and real-world problems.
