Description

In Clinical Skills 1, students will delve into various clinical presentations and therapeutic models, with a strong emphasis on systemic practice. The module will introduce students to interventions they can draw on and therapeutic tools they can use in their clinical practice as placement students. The module introduces practical tools from narrative and family therapy, thirdwave approaches and CBT, allowing placement students to practise these interventions. The students will be able to use reflective practice during the module and think about ways of showing cultural and ethical sensitivity, considering the diverse contexts in which children and families live. Throughout the module, students will be encouraged to adopt a reflective and critical perspective, enhancing their ability to adapt their skills to a variety of situations and challenges on placements.
