Description
The Music Technology in Education module provides a critical introduction to using music technology in six core areas: sound and its properties; audio processing; MIDI; digital audio; recording; and music sequencing. It also addresses the dynamic relationship between research and practice in the field. As music technology is now integral to the preparation of teachers, participants critically review music technology by focusing on the issues and challenges of creative applications to music technology in education. Participants also engage with key literature and commentary in relation to the specialist use of music technology, teaching and learning with music technology, and electro-acoustic and electronic music; and they engage in reflective self-analysis in relation to their own educational practices and experiences. This module is taught by distance learning.
