Program Overview

Introduction to Computer Science and Electronic Engineering with a Year in Industry MEng (Hons)

The Computer Science and Electronic Engineering with a Year in Industry MEng (Hons) program is designed to equip students with a broad educational background in electronics and computing, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and practical application skills. This five-year program includes a year-long industrial placement, providing students with hands-on experience in a professional software industry or electronic engineering environment.


Program Structure

The program is divided into five years, with the third year spent on industrial placement. The first two years cover the fundamentals of electronics and computing, including electronic circuits, digital electronics, programming, and mathematics. The final two years focus on advanced topics, such as software engineering, database development, digital control, and optimization.

  • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate: Distinction, plus AB in A Levels (including Mathematics and a science subject)
