Program Overview

Introduction to Mechatronics and Robotic Systems with a Year in Industry BEng (Hons)

The Mechatronics and Robotic Systems with a Year in Industry BEng (Hons) program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of mechatronics and robotic systems. This program covers everything from driverless cars and automated robots at manufacturing assembly lines to remotely operated vehicles on Mars.

Course Overview

  • The program is a four-year full-time course with a year in industry.
  • It is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.
  • The course content includes digital and integrated electronics design, electrical circuits and systems, electronic circuits, mathematics for electrical engineers, and more.

Year One Modules

  • DIGITAL & INTEGRATED ELECTRONICS DESIGN (ELEC143): 15 credits
  • ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS & SYSTEMS (ELEC142): 15 credits
  • ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS (ELEC104): 15 credits
  • SOLIDS AND STRUCTURES 1 (ENGG110): 15 credits
  • MATHEMATICS A FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS (ELEC191): 15 credits
  • MATHEMATICS B FOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS (ELEC192): 15 credits
  • ENGINEERING IN PRACTICE (ELEC181): 30 credits

Year Two Modules
