Economics PhD
The Economics PhD at the University of Liverpool provides students with the skills and knowledge to answer pressing economic questions facing the world. With an established tradition of developing next-generation economists, this program offers a perfect environment to become a world-class specialist researcher in economics.
Introduction
The program is designed for students with a master's degree in economics or a related field. It provides tailored training with modules designed to develop research skills in economics, including research foundations, advanced topics in macroeconomics, microeconomics, macroeconometrics, and microeconometrics. Students will also receive additional training via workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Tuition fees for the Economics PhD are:

Entry Requirements
To apply for the Economics PhD, students must have a UK master's degree or international equivalent in economics or a related discipline, preferably at merit or above, plus demonstrable quantitative and programming skills. English language requirements include an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with no component below 6.5.
English Language Requirements
International students must demonstrate competence in the use of English language, unless they are from a majority English-speaking country. The university accepts a variety of international language tests and country-specific qualifications. Students who do not meet the minimum required standard of English language can complete a Pre-sessional English course to achieve the required level.
