Introduction to Operations and Supply Chain Management MSc

The Operations and Supply Chain Management MSc program is designed by one of the UK's leading Operations and Supply Chain Management research groups. This program is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CILT).


Course Overview

The program is aimed at graduates in management, engineering, and science, as well as practicing operations professionals and non-sector professionals who wish to increase their understanding of operations and supply chain management. Students will gain a theoretical and practical exposition of the factors necessary for effective operations and supply management in today's global and highly competitive markets.

The program is delivered over 12 months and consists of six compulsory modules and two optional modules, followed by a project carried out over the summer on completion of semester two.

Final Project

During the summer semester, students will take either Business Simulation and Analysis or MSc Project. Graduates of the MSc program in Operations and Supply Chain Management can become members of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) by successfully applying to those organizations and paying an annual membership fee.


Teaching and Assessment

Modules are taught using the latest active learning techniques, including business simulations, real-world case studies, interactive participation software, and lecture capture. The principal forms of teaching are lectures and seminars, with most taught sessions normally being supported by additional resources such as handouts and online materials accessible via the virtual learning environment (Canvas).

Careers and Employability

This program offers opportunities to explore current, cross-sector developments in the field through expert-led industrial lectures and a best-practice industry visit. Graduates are well-prepared for senior roles in operations, logistics, and supply chain strategy. Within twelve months of graduation, 91.2% of alumni are employed, working in roles such as logistics account representative, supply chain coordinator, procurement analyst, project support, and senior semiconductor assurance engineer.


Fees and Funding

Tuition fees for the academic year 2026/27 are Ł15,000 for UK students and Ł32,000 for international students. International applicants who accept an offer of a place will need to pay a tuition fee deposit. UK nationals or those with settled status in the UK may be eligible to apply for a Postgraduate Loan worth up to Ł12,858 to help with course fees and living costs.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a 2:2 honors degree from a UK university or an equivalent academic qualification from a similar non-UK institution in Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or closely related disciplines. International applicants must demonstrate competence in the use of English language, unless they are from a majority English-speaking country.
