Managing Complexity in Clinical Environments (HEAL441)

This module is designed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and manage complexity in the clinical environment, and to develop critical awareness of the impact of complex issues on modern clinical practice.

Module Delivery

The module is delivered part-time, with the module delivered in one semester. The module runs in semester two.

Module Details and Indicative Content

Learners will identify and critically appraise the complexities associated with providing healthcare to patients and examine the impact of their environment on clinical complexity.

How You Are Assessed

There are two summative assessments:

• A practical assessment: Online, based on a video of an assessment of a complex patient
• A 3,000-word essay

To support summative assessment, there are opportunities to undertake formative assessment.
