Honors Program
The Berkeley College Honors Program is a credit-bearing academic program within the Division of General Education available to eligible high-achieving, full-time applicants seeking associate's or bachelor's degrees.
Eligibility
- Domestic high school applicants must have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- International high school applicants must have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Full-time enrollment in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program is required.
- Transfer students or current Berkeley College students can apply to the Continuing-Transfer Honors Program with a college cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher for domestic students and 3.0 or higher for international students.
Program Requirements
- Accepted Honors students must sign an Honors Acknowledgment.
- Students must join an Honors Learning Community and pass consecutive Honors seminars.
- Students must document 30 or more hours of community service each year.
- Students must write a research paper and showcase it at the annual spring Honors Scholars Research Symposium.
- Students must maintain a B (3.0) or better cumulative GPA until graduation.

Admissions Process
- The admissions process for the Honors Program includes submitting an application, unofficial transcript, letters of recommendation, and a 500-word essay.
- The Honors Admissions Committee reviews applications and may request a personal interview.
- No applications are accepted after the specified deadlines for each cohort.

- Remain consecutively enrolled at the College.

- Improve self-confidence, communication skills, and professionalism.
- Enhance knowledge of current social justice issues.
- Demonstrate stronger information literacy, research, and critical thinking skills.
