Introduction to the Medical Insurance, Billing, and Coding Program

The Berkeley College Medical Insurance, Billing, and Coding (MIBC) program is designed to provide students with the essential business and technology skills required to work in a variety of healthcare facilities. The program focuses on preparing students for national certification exams, with instruction from professors who have extensive professional experience in the field.

Program Curriculum

The MIBC program curriculum includes:

  • Curricula that focus on the structure and dynamics of the healthcare industry
  • An emphasis on technology and specialized software to collect, process, and use information essential to the healthcare industry and its clients
  • Training in communications between healthcare providers and private and governmental funding agencies
  • Participating in an internship or job-related assignment for a valuable learning experience

Benefits of the Program

Medical Insurance Billing and Coding students benefit from the program in several ways. Although certification is not required to work in most states, employers prefer to hire certified Medical Insurance, Billing, and Coding graduates.
