Higher National Diploma Business

The Higher National Diploma Business course is a two-year program designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in business. The course is suitable for students finishing college or those re-entering education after employment or a career break.

Entry Requirements

• Entry tariff: 7288 UCAS points (or equivalent)
• Applications are welcome from non-standard academic backgrounds and/or mature career changers.
• Advanced entry (into the second year, Level 5 of the HND) is available upon successful completion of an appropriate Higher National Certificate year (at the University of Roehampton or elsewhere).
• Other qualifications will also be considered, as well as relevant work experience, or an international equivalent to the above qualifications, credits achieved at other colleges, universities, and work/life experience.

Skills

The course aims to provide students with professional business skills that matter most to employers. Students will learn to apply their own ideas to the business world, deal with uncertainty and complexity, explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation, and use both theory and practice in a wide range of real-world business situations.

Learning

The full-time course includes four modules (15 credits x 4) each semester, totaling eight modules (15 credits x 8) a year. Lessons will be taught across two days per week (full-time). Students will be taught using a range of methods, including lectures, practical sessions, seminars, workshops, and work-based learning (placements).
