Introduction
The Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) assessment only route is designed for teachers who already have the knowledge and experience but need to demonstrate their competence against the Teachers' Standards. Through lesson observations, portfolio submissions, and professional reflective discussions, candidates will showcase their teaching abilities and build evidence towards gaining QTS, without the need for additional training.

The QTS Assessment only route is designed for experienced and skilled teachers who wish to gain formal recognition as qualified teachers without undergoing additional training. This course provides a structured assessment process to assess candidates against the Teachers' Standards, ensuring they meet the requirements for QTS. Candidates will demonstrate their teaching competence through lesson observations, portfolio submissions, and professional discussions.

Entry Requirements
To apply for this course, candidates must have met the following conditions:
- A UK honours degree (2:2 or above)
- A minimum of two years teaching experience in at least two schools
- Experience of teaching across the age range they wish to gain QTS in (3 - 7, 5 - 11, 11 - 16, 11 - 18, 14 - 18)
- Be employed in a school that will support them during this process
- GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above (and Science for Primary)
Additional Requirements
- If the expression of interest meets the criteria for the course, candidates will be interviewed with their employer
- Candidates will be expected to take a literacy and numeracy test at the interview
