Program Overview
Introduction to the University of Roehampton Program
The University of Roehampton offers a unique study abroad experience on its beautiful parkland campus in south west London. This integrated program includes guaranteed on-campus housing, a dedicated study abroad team, and modules across academic departments. Students can choose classes from across academic departments and study alongside Roehampton students.
Academics
Students can study up to 80 UK credits, choosing from an exciting suite of modules across departments. They will study alongside Roehampton students from around the world and be taught by academics who are passionate about what they teach and are experts in their fields.
London Studies
The University of Roehampton offers immersive London Studies modules, which take students out of the classroom and into the city. These modules use London as the backdrop for studies, providing a unique academic perspective on the city. Students will only be assigned one London Studies class per semester, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Academic Gap Year Programme
The University of Roehampton also offers an Academic Gap Year Programme, designed to provide an introduction to studying in the UK for students who have just graduated from high school. This program allows students to live and learn on the university's beautiful south west London campus, studying alongside Roehampton students from around the world and being taught by passionate academics.
Living on Campus
When studying abroad at Roehampton, students are welcomed into a close-knit community. The university's beautiful and safe parkland campus is the perfect place to balance studying with exploring the city.
Accommodation
As a study abroad student, accommodation is guaranteed in one of the university's on-campus halls of residence. All rooms are single occupancy and are arranged in either apartment style or along a corridor. Students will share a kitchen/social area and will be provided with all the necessary cooking equipment. Some rooms have private full bathrooms, while others have private showers or shared facilities.
Support
The dedicated Roehampton Abroad team will support students through their application, preparation for arrival, and throughout their time at Roehampton. Students will also have access to all the student support services on campus, including Disabilities and Dyslexia services, wellbeing, and study support.
Social Programme
The university's optional Social Programme is designed to make it easy for students to experience the highlights of London and the UK. Each semester, the program includes a range of events, such as a full weekend away in another UK city, a night out at a West End show, a cruise along the Thames, and a themed walking tour with an expert local guide.
Application and Requirements
Students are expected to have a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent. The application process requires some basic information about the student and their current studies, as well as a copy of their current transcript and a short personal statement.
Scholarships
The University of Roehampton offers several scholarships to study abroad students, including the Roehampton College Scholarship and the Vice Chancellor's Scholarship for Diversity in Study Abroad.
Roehampton College Scholarship
This scholarship is available to study abroad students applying from one of the university's college partner institutions. The scholarship is in the form of a 15% discount on tuition fees and is eligible to students who apply for a semester-long study abroad program, taking a minimum of 60 credits.
Vice Chancellor's Scholarship for Diversity in Study Abroad
This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate diversity in study abroad and is in the form of a È1,000 tuition fee reduction. Students must submit a 500-word essay and a letter of recommendation from a member of staff at their home university.
Fees, Dates, and Deadlines
The tuition fee for the study abroad program is È8,250 per semester, up to 80 credits. The application deadlines are May 31 for the autumn semester and October 31 for the spring semester. The semester dates are:
