Course Description
This course examines topics at the intersection of philosophy, politics, and economics. Topics may include: social choice theory, rational choice theory, economic history, value theory, the politics of global finance, global governance, and comparative political economics.
Course Details
- Academic Year: The academic year is the teaching period covered by trimesters 1, 2, and 3. As trimester 3 is taught across the summer, the academic year can end in the following calendar year.

Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course should be able to:
- Critically analyse and evaluate issues of relevance to government from a variety of different disciplinary perspectives.
- Undertake interdisciplinary research within Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics.
- Understand and synthesise the principles and methodologies used in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics.
How This Course is Taught
This course is optimised for face-to-face delivery on campus and cannot be completed remotely. All lectures will be recorded, but certain assignments can only be completed in person, and class discussion and participation is expected.
