Course Objectives
Students who pass this course should be able to:
- Compare and contrast existing practices and tools used in co-design that specifically address cultural, social, political, environmental, and ethical contexts.
- Produce creative and written outputs that synthesize research, design thinking, creative practice, planning, prototyping, and reflection of an improved or new co-design tool.
- Communicate concepts verbally, orally, and in writing with clarity, criticality, and correct application of referencing.
How the Course is Taught
- Lectures, studios, and tutorials require in-person attendance.
- Lecture recordings will be made available for subsequent revision.
Assessment
- Visual Presentation and Written Report: 20% (expected workload: 34 hours)
- Visual and Written Stakeholder Personas and A3 Journey Map: 30% (expected workload: 40 hours)
- Design Summary: 30% (expected workload: 30 hours)
- Six In-Class Tasks (PBAs): 20%

What You'll Need to Get
Students will need to provide all materials and equipment necessary for the completion of coursework. It is recommended that students have their own laptop, although computer facilities are available at the school. A simple digital camera (3.2mpxl minimum) is also recommended.
