About This Course
IXXN 201 is an on-campus only course, not available for distance study, with all class sessions delivered in person at the Te Aro Campus.
Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course should be able to:
- Use methods employed by user experience design experts.
- Reflect on and illustrate the rationale supporting a chosen design approach and project development.
- Analyse, compare, and integrate user experience design approaches to solve a problem.
- Explain user experience design and its efficacy from a range of perspectives and examples.
How This Course Is Taught
The course includes lectures, studios, and tutorials that require in-person attendance. Lecture recordings will be available for subsequent revision.
- Lectures: Introduce basic concepts of designing for interaction, including methods for talking with people, observing their behaviour, and assessing their responses to designs.
- Studio Sessions: Involve discussion of topics covered in lectures and practical engagement in design and testing methods.
