Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course will be able to:
- Critically analyse the strategic role of people management policies and practices in supporting policy and organisational goals within the public sector.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of theory and evidence regarding organisational forms and behaviours, recruitment and selection, performance appraisal, rewards, learning and development, diversity management, and employee relations.
- Recognise future challenges in public sector people management arising from the emergence of public governance reforms, globalisation, and technological change, and propose responses.
- Apply various models, concepts, strategies, and analytical frameworks in people management practice and research.
