INFO 533 is a course that introduces and examines methods for understanding the diverse and evolving needs of users and non-users in libraries and archives, with an emphasis on inclusive, user-centred approaches and bicultural perspectives.

Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course will be able to:
- Explain theoretical and practical approaches to understanding user and non-user needs, behaviour, and expectations in libraries and archives.
- Apply different methods and tools to identify and analyse diverse groups and their needs within a libraries and archives context.
- Discuss and analyse key concepts in user-experience and user-centred design in library and archival contexts.
- Reflect critically on ethical and cultural considerations related to the design and evaluation of user experience in libraries and archives.
How This Course is Taught
The course will be delivered in a fully online mode using a mixture of Nuku learning modules for asynchronous delivery and Zoom-based lectures for synchronous participation.
