The course HIST 113, "The World Re-Made," examines the global catastrophes, hopes, expectations, and challenges that framed the period between the two World Wars of the 20th century. It takes a 'slice of history' approach, using the extraordinary events of 1936 as entry points to explore broader historical developments of the inter-war world.

Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course will be able to:
- Explain key processes and patterns in the social, political, cultural, and economic history of the inter-war world.
- Apply appropriate research skills, such as identifying sources, constructing arguments, and synthesizing complex ideas.
- Assess sources from a variety of political and cultural perspectives, acknowledging these according to the referencing conventions of the discipline.
- Communicate with clarity ideas informed by a solid foundation in historiography, academic reading, and research.
