Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course should be able to:
- Identify, understand, and interpret the practical consequences of key issues in M & A transactions
- Understand the mechanics of takeover offers under the Takeovers Code and Scheme of Arrangement under the Companies Act
- Formulate arguments as to the application of core concepts, such as association, defensive tactics, and interest class composition
- Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of different transaction structures
- Critique different approaches to issues that arise in the course of a transaction

Mandatory Requirements
