The course TCHG 509, Ngā Amo: Primary learning design 3, is designed for student teachers to critically examine the nature and purposes of three learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum not studied in TCHG 507, 508, or 517, and continue their study of Mathematics.

Course Learning Objectives
Students who pass this course will be able to:
- Illustrate the complexities of collaborative, respectful, and professional relationships, responsibilities, and practices
- Critically evaluate learning designs and assessment strategies in relation to differentiation and maximising disciplinary learning
- Compare and contrast learning designs across different environments
- Recommend approaches to enhance the learning of students with additional learning needs, based on the principles of inclusive education, research evidence, and appropriate resources
How This Course is Taught
This course will be taught through online resources and learning experiences, and workshops on Zoom. Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes except in the event of illness or exceptional circumstances.

- Drama for learning: Individual plan and group reflection Type: Individual, Mark: 35%
Mandatory Requirements
To pass this course, students must:
- Make a credible attempt to complete and submit both assessment items.
- Achieve a passing grade on any assessment item weighted 40% or higher.
- Note: One D grade for an assessment weighted less than 40% is permitted, but an E grade for any assessment item with a weighting higher than 10% may result in a failure of the course.
- Students who fail an assessment with a D weighted 40% or more will be given one opportunity to resubmit their work, within two weeks of the result, addressing the specific concerns raised. Resubmitted work cannot attract a grade higher than C-.
