Course Overview

The course MARK 323, Brand Management, is offered by the School of Marketing and International Business at the Wellington School of Business and Government. Course Objectives

Students who pass this course should be able to:


  1. Explain what a brand is and the importance of brand equity in organisations
  2. Describe and apply the major principles of brand management in organisations
  3. Discuss and explain organisational branding strategies and their impact
  4. Recommend how to evaluate a brand

How This Course is Taught

This course is optimised for on-campus learning, with lectures delivered on campus and lecture recordings available. Tutorials will be in-person, with at least one Zoom tutorial offered. Students are required to be on campus to complete this course.


Assessment

  • In-Person Test: 40%
  • Project Part 1: Develop a brand strategy, 25%
  • Project Part 2: Design branding programmes, 35%

Mandatory Requirements

To pass this course, students must:


  1. Submit all three assessments
  2. Achieve an overall pass mark of at least 50%
