Program Overview
The New Zealand Certificate in Plumbing, Gasfitting, and Drainlaying is a Level 3 program that provides students with a broad knowledge of plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying. This pre-trade qualification is designed to prepare students for an apprenticeship and eventual specialization in one of these areas.

Admission Requirements
- Academic requirements: Open Entry There are no academic requirements for this program.
- English language proficiency: All applicants must provide evidence of necessary English language proficiency.
- Special admission: Available for those who do not meet the academic requirements.

Tuition Fees
- Domestic/NZ students: $4,700 (approximate, includes GST but excludes the Compulsory Student Services Fee levy)

The program consists of the following compulsory courses:
- Essential Safety Skills for PGD (18.0 credits)
- Patterns, Tools, and Regulatory and Ethical Considerations (14.0 credits)
- Introduction to Drainlaying (11.0 credits)
- Introduction to Plumbing (23.0 credits)
- Introduction to Gasfitting (4.0 credits)
Qualification Pathway
This program does not enable graduates to practice as qualified plumbers, gasfitters, or drainlayers but is the ideal foundation for an apprenticeship and further study in these areas. Unit standard credits gained in this qualification may contribute towards apprenticeship qualifications in plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying.
