Program Overview
Accelerated BSN Nursing Program
The Accelerated BSN Nursing Program at Adelphi University is designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree in another field and are looking to transition into a career in nursing. This fast-track program allows students to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in just 15 months.
Program Overview
The program is offered at two locations: Garden City and Manhattan. Students can choose from two start dates: January (Spring) or May (Summer). The program is designed for full-time students, and classes are held at the Garden City campus, with some clinical courses taking place at healthcare facilities in the surrounding area.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from all undergraduate college work completed after high school
- Submit two professional reference letters
- Write a professional statement explaining why they want to pursue a career in nursing
- Complete all prerequisite courses with a grade of C+ or higher, including:
- Anatomy and Physiology I and II
- Microbiology
- General Chemistry
- Statistics
- Developmental Psychology
- Nutrition
- Pathophysiology
Program Details
The program is highly competitive, and admission is not guaranteed. Students who are accepted into the program can expect to spend approximately 40 hours per week in class and clinical work. The program includes hands-on training in state-of-the-art simulation labs, as well as clinical experiences at top healthcare facilities in the New York City area.

- Mather Hospital, Northwell Health
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Perioperative Program
- NYU Winthrop Hospital Perioperative Program
- St. Francis Hospital, Catholic Health Services
Simulation Labs
The program features state-of-the-art simulation labs, including the Clinical Education and Simulation Lab (CESiL) on the Garden City campus. The lab is equipped with advanced technology, including simulation manikins and telepresence robots, to provide students with a realistic and immersive learning experience.
Accreditation
The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education.
