Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the Advanced Standing Online MSW program, students must meet the following requirements:


  • Earned a BSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program within the last five years
  • GPA of 3.0 or better on a four-point scale in all social work courses
  • Two professional letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement/essay describing how interest in social work developed
  • Paid or volunteer experience in human services preferred
  • Participation in an interview via Google Hangout may be required (case-by-case basis)

Tuition

The tuition for the Advanced Standing Online MSW program is $1,035 per credit hour, with a total tuition of $33,120 for the 31-credit program. A deposit of $200 is required to secure a place in the program.


Field Education

Field education is a central component of the Advanced Standing Online MSW program. Students work at human service agencies, directly with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities, gaining exposure to diverse problems and people, including oppressed populations. Field work assignments consist of diverse practice opportunities, including conducting face-to-face interviews with clients, community work, program development, social action, and research.
