Bachelor of Arts - Spanish

Degree Requirements

The Bachelor of Arts in Spanish requires a minimum of 32 credits, with at least 32 credits in upper division courses.

Required Courses

• SPAN 301: Conversation and Composition
• SPAN 315: Spanish Literature and Society
• SPAN 325: Spanish American Literature and Society
• SPAN 401: Applied Linguistics and Grammar
• SPAN 405: Latin-American Culture and Civilization (Capstone)

Electives

• One SPAN 400-level course
• Two SPAN upper division courses
  • At the discretion of the department, a relevant course in another discipline, such as POLS 443, may be substituted for the upper division elective.
• An oral proficiency exam is required before graduation.
