About this course
This multi-disciplinary lecture and practical course is designed to enhance skills in managing high-risk patients with upper airway obstruction. Brachycephalic dogs and cats are increasingly popular pets and can be extremely challenging to manage in the hospital environment. The course will discuss tips and tricks for managing these patients smoothly and enable participants to be in the best possible position to reduce the risks for them and alleviate their owners' and their own fears and stress.

Course Format
The course includes lectures from specialists in emergency and critical care, anaesthesia, and surgery. It also features a cadaver practical, allowing delegates to review and practice surgical techniques such as:
- Wedge resection rhinoplasty
- Alarvestibuloplasty
- Partial staphylectomy
- Folded flap palatoplasty
- Temporary tracheostomy tube placement Participants will have the unique opportunity to practice nasal surgical techniques on a custom-made silicone model with a close to real feel.
