• Course Name: SPTM 31200, Organization & Management of the Sports Industry
• Credit Hours: 3.0
• Prerequisites: Junior Standing
• Course Description: Principles of planning, organizing, and controlling all aspects/resources of the Sports Industry to maximize effectiveness and control in multiple sport business enterprises. Students will develop their own career pathways and research operations they expect to spend their career in post-graduation.

Course Objectives / Learning Outcomes

1. Students completing this course will be able to define and describe eight diverse segments of the Sports industry, which will establish that value-added knowledge and experiences were attained through successful completion of this course with a "C" grade or above.
2. Students will be able to integrate awareness of the importance of planning, organizing, and controlling processes in multiple enterprises through a semester-long course project, which will result in an understanding of the importance of the principles of good organization and good management foundations as necessary for the company and themselves by attaining a "C" grade or above on the project.
3. Students will be able to use this foundation course and build upon it throughout their major in Sports Management and this will be exhibited by the completion of all major courses with a "C" grade or above and completion of a career plan on their own career pathways for their post-graduation employment. Post-Graduation survey completion required.
