The College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers an Accelerated B.S. in Health Sciences to M.S. in Health Sciences (HSC) program.

Program Overview

The Accelerated B.S. in Health Sciences to M.S. in Health Sciences (HSC) program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in health sciences.


Dual-Credit Advantage

The Dual-Credit Advantage option enables students to accelerate the completion of a graduate degree. Students who meet specified eligibility criteria are eligible to substitute three courses from the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences core curriculum for three courses in the Master of Science in Health Sciences program.


Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Dual-Credit Advantage option, students must:


  1. Successfully complete 90 undergraduate credits
  2. Successfully complete ENG 310 and HSC 303, Professionalism in Health Sciences
  3. Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher

Dual-Credit Courses

The following courses are eligible for dual credit:


  • HSC 6600 Foundations of Community and Health Education in place of HSC 323 Health Education and Principles of Teaching
  • MGT 6400 Global Leadership in place of HSC 333 Leadership for the Healthcare Professional
  • HCA 7720 Health Policy and Economics in place of HSC 380 Healthcare Policy in the Population Health concentration

Program Requirements

Courses taken at the graduate level fulfill requirements for both the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and the Master of Science in Health Sciences programs. Students must complete and submit the Dual-Credit Advantage intent form and receive advisement from the Health Sciences Program Chair regarding course selection.
