The Geographical Information Systems (GIS) program is a vital component of various fields, including geography, environment, and others. Course Description

Introduction to GIS (GEOG-EGEO-ERSC 2090H) is a course designed to teach students the fundamentals of map making, working with digital geographic data, and performing elementary GIS operations. This course also provides students with experience working with ArcGIS.

Course Requirements

• The course requires one or more of the following: first-year Geography, ERS, or Biology.
• This course is a required course for all Geography majors.

Course Format

• The in-person version of GEOG-EGEO-ERSC 2090H includes workshops that take place in the computer lab with all required software supplied.
  • Students enrolled in the web-based version of this course should be aware of the computer and software requirements.
