Program Overview


Introduction to the Program

The Foundation Year of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to progress towards a BSc (Hons) in Countering Terrorism and Extremism. This program offers a supportive environment where students can develop and progress throughout their degree.

Welcome and Induction

The Welcome Week is an essential introduction to the course and the wider University, helping students to feel confident and prepared for their studies. Students are required to attend various activities as part of their course induction, which will be communicated by the course team.


Teaching Timetable

The teaching timetable provides an overview of all teaching activities for the course. Students can access their individual student timetable via MyTimetable, which will display the modules and groups they are expected to attend.


Program Overview

The School of Business, Law and Policing at CCCU is staffed with academics who share many years of professional and academic experience. The Policing team has a total of 500 years of cumulative work experience in various policing and criminal justice functions.


Getting Started

The foundation year is designed to ensure that students gain key skills enabling them to progress towards a BSc (Hons) in Countering Terrorism and Extremism. Students will study modules that cover big and contemporary issues, as well as key study skills.

Community

The Student Union (CCSU) has a huge range of clubs and societies, offering endless opportunities to make lifelong friends and discover new hobbies. CCSU will be hosting their Welcome Fayre on Wednesday, 17th September 2025.
