The Government and Politics of the UK Masterclass is a two-hour session designed to deepen students' knowledge and understanding of the structure and operation of major political institutions in the UK and the constitution.

Curriculum

In this masterclass, students will:


  • Develop awareness of the significance of the development of governance in the UK, from Magna Carta to contemporary legislation and issues regarding rights
  • Analyze and evaluate the powers and scrutiny of the three branches of government
  • Examine the major political parties and their ideologies
  • Participate in an interactive session developing research and critical thinking skills for projects such as the EPQ or IBCP reflective project
