The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) with Foundation Year is a four-year undergraduate degree that combines a health foundation year with a full Honours degree in Mental Health Nursing. This innovative and hands-on degree is designed to teach students how to support people with different mental health problems, in various settings, making them adaptable and person-centred practitioners.
Overview
The course begins with a health foundation year, where students learn key concepts and principles in health and social care. This foundation year allows students to begin their qualification without meeting the traditional level 3 entry requirements, gaining essential skills required to succeed in degree-level education. Upon completion of the foundation year, students progress to the Mental Health Nursing degree, which focuses on developing the skills and knowledge necessary to become a confident, person-centred practitioner.
