Program Overview


Program Overview

The university program offers a masterclass in Directing the Script in Film, which is part of the Media, Film, and Photography department. This masterclass is available from January to May.


Program Details

  • The masterclass is held on Thursdays and Fridays.
  • It is designed for Key Stage 4, Key Stage 5, FE Level 2, and FE Level 3 students.
  • The minimum number of students required is 10, and the maximum is 30.
  • The masterclass lasts for 1 hour and takes place at the University Campus.

Program Content

In this masterclass, students will develop their understanding of the role of the director and consider the components involved in developing a scene. They will apply their understanding of breaking down a scene with a set text and participate in practical blocking activities. A screening of an example scene from Little Miss Sunshine will also be part of the program.
