The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is proud to introduce the Indigenous Vet Camp Pilot Project, an initiative designed to inspire and engage Indigenous youth with a passion for veterinary medicine.

Program Overview

This unique program provides hands-on experiences, educational workshops, and the opportunity to learn from leading professionals in the field, all while honouring and integrating Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.

Partners and Support

The pilot project has been made possible thanks to the generous financial support from VCA Canada, whose commitment to supporting Indigenous communities and advancing veterinary education aligns with the mission at AVC. The college would also like to acknowledge the support of its Indigenous partners at Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey.

Future Plans

The AVC is currently evaluating the success of this pilot project and plans to make an announcement in January regarding the official launch of the Indigenous Vet Camp for summer 2025.
