Program Overview
The program is a graduate-level course of study that requires a two-part application process. Competitive candidates who have submitted both the CASPA application and JMU Graduate School application by the deadline will be invited for an on-campus interview.
Application Deadline
The JMU graduate application will open on April 25. The deadline for submitting both the CASPA application and JMU Graduate School application is June 15th. Positions are offered on a rolling basis until the class is full.
Program Begins
The program begins in the Fall.
Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with the electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, official transcripts from any institution from which a degree has been awarded must be submitted to the JMU Graduate School to finalize admission.
Required by Program
The application is a two-part process, requiring both the JMU Graduate School application and the Central Application Service of Physician Assistants (CASPA) application. Applicants must have a minimum of 1,000 hours of direct patient contact health care experience and complete specific prerequisite courses with a grade of "B" or higher and others with a grade of "C" or higher. The GRE General Test is also required, with official scores sent to the CASPA central application.
