Program Overview
The Communication Sciences and Disorder/Doctor of Philosophy program is a graduate program offered by James Madison University.
Application Deadline
The application for the program opens on September 1, and the deadline for guaranteed consideration for funding is January 31st. After January 31st, applications will continue to be reviewed, and students will be admitted on a space-available basis.
Program Begins
The program begins in the Fall semester.
Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts from all post-secondary institutions should be uploaded with the electronic application and may be used for departmental admission review purposes. If offered admission, official transcripts from any institution from which a degree has been awarded must be submitted to the JMU Graduate School to finalize admission. Transcripts are considered official if they are sent to JMU directly from the issuing institution.

- Three letters of recommendation
- These letters should be from academic or professional references who can speak to the applicant's qualifications and potential.
- GRE General Test
- Students may request that the GRE be waived; they should contact the Program Director for more information.
- Personal interview
- The interview can be conducted via Zoom.
