The College of Business's Business Bound - Summer Bridge Program is designed to support first-generation college students as they navigate their first year at James Madison University. This program aims to provide participants with the tools, connections, and confidence needed to thrive in the College of Business.
Program Details
Eligibility
The program is open to first-generation College of Business majors, defined as students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) did not graduate from a four-year institution.
Program Structure
The program is a five-day residential program that takes place on JMU's campus. It includes interactive workshops, mentorship, and hands-on experiences designed to strengthen academic skills, explore career pathways, and build a strong support network.

- Meals and transportation to and from program events are included
- Move-in early to residence hall
- Receive a $500 scholarship upon program completion
- Enhance academic competence, including Excel and Pre-Algebra workshops

Scholarship Details
To receive the $500 scholarship, students must successfully complete the Business Bound program and be enrolled full-time for the fall semester. Please note that receiving this scholarship may impact other financial aid.
